| OVERVIEW>>
Saint Martin de Porres High School was founded
in Cleveland in 2004. The co-educational school school offers
Catholic, college preparatory education to Cleveland students
who might not otherwise be able to afford it. St. Martin de
Porres, like all Cristo Rey model schools in the United States,
requires its students participate in an innovative work- study
program that, in addition to funding the bulk of the school's
operating expenses, provides valuable learning experiences.
Saint Martin de Porres High School is a lay initiative endorsed
by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary and the Detroit Province
of the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuits.
