The majority of the costs of operating a Cristo Rey school are covered by revenue generated from the work-study program and a modest tuition.  The Cristo Rey Network® schools, however, do raise a significant amount of funds from foundations and individual donors for scholarships, to cover the cost of non-profit work-study position, start-up operating costs, and capital needs.
