Atlanta Dedicates School Building

The school is in downtown Atlanta and is in a converted office building owned by the Archdiocese. Along with many other volunteers, local alumni from Boston College and Marquette University helped paint and landscape the building.

Atlanta Builds Impressive Admissions Pipeline
How to recruit students to a school that doesn’t yet exist? This is one of the many issues that our schools in Launch Year face when preparing to open their doors.
Cristo Rey Atlanta Admissions Director Lina Monsalve-Bonilla has adopted an active and aggressive approach to recruitment for the school’s inaugural freshmen class. In addition to six open houses held at the school, the Cristo Re Atlanta Jesuit staff has visited middle schools, enrichment programs targeting low income students, and parishes across Atlanta. They have secured coverage in local English and Spanish media outlets. The staff has also effectively coordinated outside help when possible, recruiting board members and other volunteers for help at admissions events and on task force committees. This “all-hands-on-deck” approach has thus far produced great results: in only its first year of student recruitment, Cristo Rey Atlanta is already nearing the top of the charts for admissions interest across the Network. As of December 1, the Admissions office had received nearly 350 inquiries from hopeful applicants and almost 90 students had begun work on applications with hopes of being accepted in the inaugural freshmen class.
