Dr. Kavita Bhavan is Chief Innovation Officer at Parkland Health and Hospital System and Professor of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. A nationally recognized expert in infectious diseases and health equity, she developed a nationally replicated self-care model for outpatient antimicrobial therapy. Dr. Bhavan earned her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and holds a Master of Health Science from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

In April 2024, Parkland Health was awarded a Corporate Work Study (CWS) Impact Award for its outstanding Corporate Partnership with Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep.
