JoAnn Chávez is the Sr. Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for DTE Energy, a Detroit based diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy related businesses and services nationwide. DTE Energy currently provides jobs for dozens of student workers of Detroit Cristo Rey High School.

JoAnn has spent her career supporting the community and currently serves as follows: Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board Chair, the Michigan Hispanic Fund President, Notre Dame Law School Advisory Council and the University of Michigan School of Education Dean’s Advisory Council. Chávez has been recognized by the Latino Who’s Who for her achievements in advancing the culture of the Latino American business community, and is a frequent speaker in the Hispanic community.
