Dear Friends,
In 2009 when the Cristo Rey Network included 20 member schools, Elizabeth Goettl transitioned from her role as President of San Miguel High School in Tucson to serve as the Cristo Rey Network's first Chief Academic Officer. In 2017, she stepped into her current role as President & CEO. After 14 years of service to our mission, Ms. Goettl will retire next year, concluding her tenure in June 2023.
Today Ms. Goettl informed the CRN Board of Directors of her intent to transition out of the role of President & CEO following the successful completion of the national office's first nation-wide campaign and having ensured a financially sustainable future for the national office. Under her leadership, the Network has grown the number of schools and opportunities for young people across the country, schools have increased student retention, and systematic infrastructure and resources have been incorporated to support schools in their leadership efforts.
The Board of Directors will form a committee to lead the search for the next CRN President & CEO. This committee will lead a robust search and selection process to ensure sustained and mission-aligned national leadership for our growing Network of schools.
The position description and selection process for the President & CEO will be made public and posted nationally to launch the search. Our goal is for the search committee to be prepared to make a recommendation for hire to the Board of Directors in early 2023 for a new President to begin in July 2023.
The Board is confident of our ability to source the Network's next leader to succeed Ms. Goettl. We remain grateful to each of you who share our belief in the capacity of the young people we serve and who have partnered and invested so generously in that capacity.
Sincerely,
