A Communication to Cristo Rey Network Friends and Family | June 2023
Dear friends of Cristo Rey,
Over fourteen years, it has been my honor to serve and advance the Cristo Rey movement. As Fr. John Foley reminds us, "..the Cristo Rey movement is God working in our world, through all of us working together." Each of us who contributes to this shared mission is blessed by the opportunity to demonstrate a faith that does justice - through our actions. Our Network remains grateful for the collective engagement of every individual and organization in this committed nationwide effort - investors, corporate partners, religious sponsors, and board members.
There is much unfinished work to do, and your partnership in this movement remains essential. Our incoming President and CEO, Kelby Woodard, is poised to lead the implementation of Cristo Rey's new Strategic Plan 2026 and facilitate our movement's forward progress.
I will continue to offer heartfelt prayers of gratitude for each of you in the days ahead.

Four Years in the Making | 2023 Inaugural Graduations
Since opening day in the fall of 2019, Cristo Rey St. Viator College Preparatory High School (Las Vegas) and Cristo Rey Richmond High School have been ambitiously building towards this historic moment for their founding Classes of 2023.
Cristo Rey Richmond High School celebrated 55 graduates at its standing-room-only inaugural graduation on June 10. The school community's infectious joy and pride was reflected in commencement speeches that exhorted students to continue to be lights in the darkness.
Cristo Rey St. Viator College Preparatory High School also gathered with its 56 graduates and their families, the entire school community, the Board, and work study partners at the Las Vegas Convention Center to honor the founding class. An inspirational commencement address by Nevada Secretary of State and CRSV Board Chair, Cisco Aguilar, commemorated the occasion, along with a presentation of the first annual Fr. Thomas R. von Behren College Scholarship Award in recognition of Fr. Tom's service as founding President.
