June 11, 2024, CHICAGO, IL — The Cristo Rey Network board of directors is delighted to announce the election of four new members, effective July 1, 2024. Joining the distinct board of 30 members are Dan Dougherty, a Cristo Rey High School President; Dominique Jordan, an alumnus and Wealth Manager; Kip Kernodle, a finance executive; Robert L. Manuel, President of DePaul University; Dr. Kenya LeNoir Messer, a seasoned educator, and Bill Orosz, President and CEO of Hanover Capital.
Dan Dougherty is the President of Cristo Rey New York High School. He began his education career at Regis High School as a college counselor, later becoming Dean of Students. After 15 years at Regis, he worked for the Jesuits Provincial Staff office as Assistant for Secondary and Pre-Secondary Education. In 2011, Dan joined Xavier High School's administration as Executive Vice President, focusing on faculty compensation, sustainable tuition, and financial aid policies. Dan holds a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.S. from St. John’s University.
Dominique Jordan, a 2019 graduate of Cristo Rey's Verbum Dei Jesuit High School (Los Angeles), is a Vice President and Wealth Manager with First Republic Investment Management and a passionate advocate for financial literacy. His foundation, the DJ|JD Foundation, is dedicated to uplifting and molding high school students to develop an understanding of financial markets and goal setting. Before joining First Republic in 2021, he was Associate Vice President, Regional Training Officer, and Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. Dominique earned a dual bachelor's degree in finance and management from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
Kip Kernodle, a highly experienced financial executive, dedicated over 20 years as the CFO and BOD member for Allflex Holdings, Inc., an international manufacturing and technology conglomerate headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and Paris, France. Kip remains actively involved in the financial sector as a member and chair of numerous boards and committees. Since 2016, he has volunteered in multiple roles at Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep including: Director of Finance, CFO, and Financial Advisor.
Rob L. Manuel is the president of DePaul University and has more than 30 years of academic experience in higher education. Rob has served as president at the University of Indianapolis and as a senior administrator at New York University and Georgetown, where he is recognized for developing and implementing innovative academic programming. He serves on the board of directors for the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and is a Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory High School. Rob has a bachelor’s degree from Allegheny College, a master’s degree from Syracuse University, and a PhD from New York University.
Dr. Kenya LeNoir Messer has served as an educator, student advocate, and executive university leader at top institutions nationwide. She is an assistant professor of higher, adult, and lifelong education at the College of Education at Michigan State University. In addition to her history of leadership within higher education, she is a consultant, published author, researcher, lecturer, and national presenter on issues impacting student success, access, and retention in college. Dr. Kenya received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Union College, NY; a master's degree in counseling and student personnel administration from Columbia University, NY; a Doctor of Education from Columbia University, NY.
Bill Orosz is the President & CEO of Hanover Capital Partners and founder of a family-owned real estate development and investment company. He is instrumental in the start-up of Cristo Rey Orlando High School, on target to open in summer 2025, and currently serves as Board Chair and Chair of the Building Committee. In addition to his business endeavors, The Orosz Family Foundation supports numerous religious, educational, and medical research initiatives in the Central Florida community. Bill received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dartmouth College and his Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
