Cristo Rey Network Appoints New Board Members
Jessie Fenton

July 21, 2021 – CHICAGO – The Cristo Rey Network Board of Directors recently approved the appointment of two new members: Camille Naughton, President of Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School and Lauralyn Lee, Chief of Staff and Chief Operating Officer at the Washington National Cathedral.

Camille Naughton is President of Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School. Camille was a part of the team that founded the school in 2014. Before assuming the role of president, she managed the school’s Advancement and Corporate Work Study Programs. Under Camille’s leadership, the school raised over $30M to build a campus in the heart of downtown Atlanta. Camille sits on the Metro Chamber Board of Directors, Central Atlanta Progress Board of Directors, Emory University Board of Visitors, and is a member of Leadership Atlanta’s Class of 2023. She is also a sustaining member of the Atlanta Junior League, and an American Enterprise Institute Leadership Network alum.

“I am honored to have been asked to sit on the National board. I look forward to contributing what I can from the experience of building a Cristo Rey school from the beginning, but more importantly, I look forward to what I can learn from the distinguished, veteran board members who are already serving the Cristo Rey Network,” said Camille Naughton.

Lauralyn Lee serves as Chief of Staff and COO at the Washington National Cathedral. She has spent her career working with leaders of universities, churches, and complex nonprofit organizations, advising and managing a range of issues, including college access and perseverance, nonprofit management, and long-term planning. Prior to assuming her current role at the Cathedral, Lauralyn spent five years as a consultant for many projects with George Mason University, the Bishop of Washington for the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, Stockton University, Limestone College, and Georgetown University, to name a few.

“Issues of educational access are a true calling for me. I firmly believe that high-quality college prep education is one of the most powerful tools we have to address the issues of equity and disparity that are ravaging our country,” stated Lauralyn Lee.

Lauralyn is the immediate past board chair of Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School and Corporate Work Study Program, our member school in Washington, DC. In 2020-21, Lauralyn chaired the search committee for the DBCR’s first lay president, resulting in the hire and appointment of Mark Shriver in the fall of 2021.

”In my work at Don Bosco Cristo Rey, I have observed firsthand the ability of a Cristo Rey education to change the trajectory of a student's life -- an impact that often ripples to their families and to future generations. The Cristo Rey model, with its unique Corporate Work Study Program, its grounding in faith, and its commitment to the whole student stands out as an innovative and particularly effective approach. Seeing it in action at the local school level was a privilege, and I am delighted to now have the opportunity to continue to advocate for our students at the national level,” said Lauralyn Lee.

The Cristo Rey Network also newly elected Vice-Chairs: Jane E. Genster as Vice-Chair of the Board and Chris Perry, Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee.

“We celebrate these new appointments leading us into the future,” remarked Brian D. Melton, Senior VP for External Relations and Chief Legal Officer, “And express our deepest appreciation to departing board members, Nick Howley and Jeb Myers, both of whom concluded their terms, for their unwavering commitment to the Cristo Rey mission.”
