Cristo Rey Network Welcomes Eight New Members to Board of Directors

The Cristo Rey Network is pleased to announce the election of eight new distinguished members to its Board of Directors. As the Cristo Rey Network launches the 2029 Strategic Plan, our new board members will provide expertise, leadership, and strategic guidance to help advance our mission over the years ahead. 

Rev. Christopher Calderón, SJ, serves as the seventh president of Cristo Rey High School Sacramento. Over the course of his ministry as a Jesuit priest and educator, Fr. Calderón has served in more than ten Jesuit institutions in faculty, staff, administrative, spiritual accompaniment, and trustee roles, including at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School (Chicago). Fr. Calderón earned a BA from University of San Francisco before entering the Jesuits in 2006. He has graduate degrees from Loyola University Chicago (M.A.), Boston College (M.Div.), and the Harvard Graduate School of Education (Ed.M.).

Christian Charnaux is Chief Development Officer for Hilton, where he leads the company’s development, architecture, and design & construction functions globally. Mr. Charnaux rejoined Hilton in July 2025 after previously serving in various leadership positions within the company from 2009 to 2018. Prior to rejoining Hilton, Mr. Charnaux served as Chief Growth Officer for Inspire Brands and also previously worked at the Boston Consulting Group. He served on the Board of Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School from 2019-2025 and on the board of Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School from 2014-2019. Mr. Charnaux is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead-Cain Scholar, and later received an MBA from Harvard Business School. 

John Eriksen is Chair of The Drexel Fund, a nonprofit venture philanthropy fund that fuels the creation of diverse and innovative private schools for low-income students, including many Cristo Rey Network schools. Prior to co-founding The Drexel Fund, Mr. Eriksen worked at the Leadership Roundtable with a focus on Catholic schools. John began his career in education as a high school teacher in Baton Rouge, La. through Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE), and at age 34 became one of the youngest Catholic school superintendents in the country in Paterson, N.J.  Mr. Eriksen earned a B.A. in economics, history and government from the University of Notre Dame, as well as an M.A.T. from the University of Portland and an M.P.P. from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He is an Aspen-Pahara Institute Fellow.

Darren Jackson most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Advance Auto Parts, Inc. (2008 to 2016), where he also held multiple terms as President. Previously, Mr. Jackson served in various executive positions with Best Buy Co., Inc., Nordstrom, Inc., and Carson Pirie Scott & Company, a regional department store company. Mr. Jackson joined the Marquette University Board of Directors in 2004, serving as Vice Chair from 2006-2009, and Chairman from 2009-2012. He served on the Cristo Rey Network Board from 2004-2007 and from 2018-2023, and also served on the Board of Cristo Rey Jesuit – Twin Cities. 

C. Seth Landefeld, M.D., M.A.C.P., is a Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. From 2012 through 2024, he served as Professor and Chair, Department of Medicine, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Physician-in-Chief, UAB Medicine. He founded the Division of Geriatrics at UCSF where he led the development of faculty in education, research, and leadership. He previously served on the Boards of Holy Family Cristo Rey High School (now Cristo Rey Birmingham) and as a non-director member of the Cristo Rey Network Board’s Corporate Work Study Program Committee in FY26. Dr. Landefeld received BA degrees in History and Science from Harvard College and in Philosophy and Theology from Oxford where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He earned a MD degree from Yale University. He trained in internal medicine at UCSF, where he served as chief medical resident, and in general internal medicine and clinical epidemiology at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. 

Halle Martin is the President and Chief Operating Officer of The Howley Foundation, where she leads initiatives to provide educational opportunities to students with economic need. The Howley Foundation is a significant supporter of several Cristo Rey Network growth and academic initiatives.  Previously, Ms. Martin was the General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary of TransDigm Group Incorporated, an NYSE-listed aerospace and defense components manufacturer. Ms. Martin earned her Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan. 

Leo Sheridan is the Executive Chairman & CEO of The Advanced Group, a global organization building specialized consulting, FSP, strategic resourcing, and outsourced solutions across clinical research, food, and other highly regulated industries based in Chicago. He previously served as a member of the Cristo Rey Network Board of Directors from 2016-2024. Mr. Sheridan holds a B.S. in Business Administration from St. Michael’s College and completed the Executive Management Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.  

Andrew Stith brings more than 20 years of service to the Cristo Rey Network. He is the founding President of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Milwaukee, where he has guided the CRJ’s growth, including a successful capital campaign to fully fund its $33M campus that opened in 2020. Previously he served as the founding leader and Vice President of Advancement for Cristo Rey Kansas City High School. Mr. Stith received his BA from Marquette University and M.Ed. from the University of Notre Dame through the ACE (Alliance for Catholic Education) teaching program. He also holds a certification in nonprofit management through the Kellogg School's Executive Scholar Program at Northwestern University. 


In addition to welcoming our newest members, we extend gratitude to the Board members concluding their service: Tina Holland, Dave Mason, Chris Perry, and Chris Shea. We are grateful for their years of leadership and their lasting contributions to this important work.
