Good news is unfolding for our Class of 2023, and we are pleased to share that 25 seniors Network-wide have been named QuestBridge and Posse scholars! In recent weeks, 13 Cristo Rey schools have celebrated the announcement of one or more local students receiving an award from either of the nationally recognized organizations. These scholarship recipients will benefit from extraordinary financial offerings and support to enroll at the programs’ partnering colleges and universities.

“It’s undeniable the importance of empowering our youth to achieve their audacious dreams and break down those barriers that may otherwise impact their success,” stated Stephanie Arias, VP of College Initiatives at the Cristo Rey Network.

Our scholars and their achievement of these awards affirm the rigor and personal formation of a Cristo Rey education. With college preparatory coursework integrated with professional work experience all four years of high school, Cristo Rey seniors are able to demonstrate strong intellectual growth and relevant skills for the future that position them favorably for competitive scholarships.

“These programs make it possible for exceptional Cristo Rey students to continue their hard work to and through college without worry of financial instability,” Arias continued.

Both programs believe that small, diverse, academically talented groups of students from the lowest income quartile can be the catalyst for change and become influential leaders for the future. Our 25 students from the Class of 2023 will join thousands of scholars ahead of them who have mobilized the programs’ offerings:

QuestBridge Match Scholarship recipients are granted a full four-year scholarship and early admission to one of the organization’s prestigious college partners. Awards are offered to students who have demonstrated academic achievements that meet or exceed the admissions standards of the partners, which includes being within the top 10% of their high school graduating class.

The Posse Program focuses on the tenacity, ambition, and extraordinary talent needed to become the next generation of leaders. With over 10,000 scholars to date, Posse Scholars receive full-tuition leadership scholarships from the nation's top colleges and universities, engagement in a robust campus support program, and professional development opportunities through a career program.

The Cristo Rey Network congratulates our Class of 2023 scholarship awardees on their dedication to and continued focus on their postsecondary journey.
