For the last several months, we’ve been in preparation stages of a new partnership and project with researchers at Washington University in St. Louis, Boston College, and University of Pennsylvania. The partnership will examine the specific skills emanating from the Corporate Work Study program related to social mobility (e.g., in terms of post-secondary educational attainment, employment, and earnings), while also articulating our organization’s programmatic impact and returns on to social mobility.

We are grateful to share that the Urban Institute recently granted support to propel the first project, Leveraging Professional Skills and Networks to Increase Economic Mobility and Racial Equity: Novel Evidence from the Cristo Rey Network, the National Student Clearinghouse, and Equifax, into action. This grant funding was made possible through the support of the Student Upward Mobility Initiative, a sponsored project of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors in partnership with the Urban Institute. Initiative funders include the Walton Family Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Joyce Foundation. The grant summary is highlighted here.

This partnership will allow us to demonstrate our results in a more robust manner, to improve our ability to leverage the Corporate Work Study program to increase social mobility and to enhance our movement’s efficacy in achieving our overall mission.
