Case Western Reserve University Named Cristo Rey Network National University Partner
Jessie Fenton

November 29, 2021 – CHICAGO – Today, the Cristo Rey Network announced that Case Western Reserve University has been named the movement's 66th University Partner with a commitment to recruit, support, and ensure Cristo Rey students’ success in their post-secondary education.

“We at Case Western Reserve University are proud and excited to begin this important relationship with the Cristo Rey Network,” says Robert McCullough, dean of undergraduate admission at Case Western Reserve University. “CWRU’s emphasis on hands-on learning that leads to our graduates’ success is closely aligned with the educational model of the Cristo Rey Network. We know that Cristo Rey students who choose CWRU will be well-prepared to achieve their professional goals as members of our campus community.”

One of the nation’s leading research universities, CWRU is known for its commitment to innovation and research since 1826. With a global footprint spanning 94 countries and an extensive network of more than 121,000 alumni, graduates have launched companies, won Nobel Prizes, reformed politics and social justice, and myriad other accomplishments.

CWRU is part of Cristo Rey’s growing community of University Partners who are not only committed to providing competitive financial aid but also meet demonstrated needs in full. This approach directly aligns with our mission of preparation for a successful career post-college.

“Our partnership is one that will continue to groom our graduates into entrepreneurs and game-changers,” stated Stephanie Arias, Director of College Initiatives at Cristo Rey Network. “We have already seen three students graduate prior to formalizing this partnership, and we are confident this number will continue to grow.”

CWRU has also been accredited since 1913 by the Higher Learning Commission, one of the six regional agencies that accredit U.S. colleges and universities at the institutional level.

Pioneered in 2008, the Cristo Rey Network University Partnership program was established as a collaborative platform for colleges and universities that demonstrate an informed appreciation of Cristo Rey graduates. These colleges and universities also share a commitment to educating and supporting students with limited economic means, many of whom are first-generation college students. Learn more.
