Regional HR Business Partner (HRBP) | Texas & Oklahoma

Position Summary
The Cristo Rey Network seeks a Regional HRBP who will report (1) directly to the Director of HR at the national office and (2) operationally to the Presidents or CFOs of the Cristo Rey schools in their assigned region. The HRBP is responsible for the HR functions at the Cristo Rey schools in their assigned region (3-4 schools; ~50 employees per school). S/he will serve as the in-house HR generalist expert. The role is key to fostering outstanding employee relations, employee engagement and is an active coach and sounding board for managers and employees. The successful candidate will have an HR leadership and HR generalist background preferably in medium to large organizations with multiple sites in various states. Bilingual fluency in English-Spanish is highly preferred.

What You’ll Do 
Lead the human resources function for the Cristo Rey schools in your region (3-4 schools):

  • Performance Management - Manage and refine the employee performance review process. 
  • HR Policy - Oversee, refine, and execute employee standards and procedures.
  • Compensation and Benefits - Lead compensation strategy together with school Presidents and CFOs. Maintain and enhance employee total rewards programs, including insurance, vacation, and other personnel packages. 
  • Employee Leaves - Manage all employee leaves. 
  • Recruitment, Onboarding and Offboarding - Lead all employee recruitment and onboarding efforts (for the HR related aspects - hiring managers will lead function specific onboarding) with support from our dedicated Talent Acquisition Manager. Manage the employee offboarding process including exit interviews. 
  • Job Descriptions - Ensure all positions have a job description on file. 
  • Compliance - Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records. 
  • Professional Development and Coaching - Organize and deliver employee trainings related to HR compliance and other legally mandated programs (i.e. Sexual Harassment). 
  • Culture & Employee Retention - Foster and sustain a positive employee culture and be a champion driving alignment with Cristo Rey’s mission and each school’s key values, and help drive competitive employee retention at each school
  • Metrics - Reporting key milestones, updates and education to managers and employees
  • Human Resources Information System - Assist with implementation and/or administration of an efficient HRIS platform for the respective region when possible to enable efficient and thorough HR record keeping, payroll administration, performance management and easy access to relevant information for leadership and managers
  • Dispute Resolution - Advise and support leadership team / managers in employee relations conflict resolution. 

Serve as the first HR expert at your assigned Cristo Rey schools:

  • Partner with school Presidents and CFO’s to improve the school’s HR function by leveraging best practices. 
  • Assist Presidents in designing / updating relevant HR policies and procedures. 
  • Create process efficiencies within your region.

Who You Are

  • 3 or more years in Human Resources and/or organization development roles

  • Bachelors degree required, MBA or M.A. in related field preferred
  • PHR designation a plus

Job Location & Travel
The ideal candidate will reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Frequent travel to the Cristo Rey schools assigned in the region will be required and occasionally to the Cristo Rey Network national office in Chicago.

The Cristo Rey Network seeks a Regional HRBP who will report (1) directly to the Director of HR at the national office and (2) operationally to the Presidents or CFOs of the Cristo Rey schools in their assigned region. The East Coast HRBP is responsible for the HR functions at the Cristo Rey schools in Baltimore and Philadelphia (~100 total employees). S/he will serve as the in-house HR generalist expert. The role is key to fostering outstanding employee relations, employee engagement and is an active coach and sounding board for managers and employees. The successful candidate will have an HR leadership and HR generalist background preferably in medium to large organizations with multiple sites in various states. 

What You’ll Do

Director of Human Resources

Position Summary
The Cristo Rey Network seeks a Director of Human Resources who will lead the human resources function for our national office (25-30 employees). S/he will also manage our HR Service Center. This is a pilot program to include 6-8 schools. This individual will report to the Cristo Rey national office CFO. 


What You’ll Do

  • Lead the human resources function for our national office
  • Oversee, refine, and execute employee standards and procedures
  • Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs, including compensation, insurance, vacation, and other personnel packages
  • Lead all employee recruitment and onboarding efforts with support from the Talent Acquisition Manager
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records
  • Manage and refine the employee performance review process 
  • Organize and deliver employee trainings, Lunch and Learns on various topics of interest and legally mandated programs, e.g. sexual harassment, etc.
  • Lead our HR Shared Service Pilot, to launch in July 2022. Build and manage a team of 2-3 HR professionals responsible for the HR operations of 6-8 Cristo Rey participating schools. If the pilot is successful, lead the expansion of the program in subsequent years. 
  • Provide strategic leadership and tactical oversight of a customer-centric, results-oriented HR Shared Services team
  • Determine priorities, select, coach and develop team members
  • Build and evolve HR Operations service delivery model by assessing performance and maintaining a consistent focus on improving the employee experience
  • Work across partner groups to define and centralize transferable HR processes into function
  • Support ongoing professional development for the CRN all-school cohort of Directors of HR  
  • Develop and oversee a relevant professional development program (3-6 sessions per year)
  • Provide customized support to school leaders in development of strong HR policies and procedures
  • Facilitate collaboration among school leaders and schools to scale effective practices
  • Coordinate national office support for recruitment and onboarding of schools’ leadership team members, including President, Principal and Corporate Work Study Director

Talent Acquisition Manager

Position Summary
The Cristo Rey Network seeks a Recruiter to support our national office and our schools in the talent acquisition operation. The Recruiter will report directly to the Director of HR and work closely with our Regional HR Business Partners (HRBP’s). The Recruiter will support our recruiting processes across all departments for Cristo Rey schools in their assigned region (~50 employees per school total) and the national office (~25 employees total). 


What You’ll Do

  • Source candidates - Develop and implement plans and strategies for sourcing candidates: 
  • Post on job sites, ensuring spending across job sites is optimized
  • Develop regional and national partnerships with universities and organizations to build our candidate pipelines
  • Attend career fairs and virtual career fairs as a brand ambassador
  • Proactively recruit candidates on prioritized platforms for hard to fill positions
  • Screen candidates
  • Suggest improvements and build our candidate pipeline

Manage recruitment data:

  • Track open positions across assigned region
  • Track candidates in the Human Resources system or other applicable tool
  • Maintain and report recruiting metrics 

Support the Human Resources Business Partners: Provide backup support for the following recruiting responsibilities as needed:

  • Phone interviews
  • Reference checks
  • Interview scheduling
  • Background checks and drug screens

Who You Are

  • The successful candidate will have a general background in recruiting, talent acquisition and job sourcing, basic project management, excellent customer service and strong communication skills. Bilingual fluency in English-Spanish is highly preferred.

  • Experience in Human Resources/Recruiting/Administration with exposure to the recruiting process and candidate interaction preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a matrix structure and interaction with multiple sites
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • Demonstrated strength in G-Suite and MS Office applications
