Cristo Rey Network Honors Corporate Partner Champions for Inaugural CWS National Impact Award

CHICAGO, IL – The Cristo Rey Network proudly announces the recipients of the prestigious Corporate Work Study (CWS) National Impact Award, presented at Cristo Rey Network’s Annual Meeting on April 17, 2024. 

Among nearly 80 multi-city corporate partners engaged with Cristo Rey schools in three or more markets, seven employers have been selected for demonstrating an extraordinary commitment and rewarding CWS experience for students nationwide. This school year alone, Cristo Rey student associates are collectively earning $1.2 million towards their education through job placements at each company.  

During the Annual Meeting’s award presentation, Cristo Rey Network Chief Corporate Program Officer Teri Johnson recognized each partner’s distinctive impact: 

Border States, a supply chain company, has been instrumental in providing essential skill development opportunities at three Cristo Rey schools. Through Border States’ Leadership Program and college scholarship initiatives, the company is paving the way for student achievement beyond high school.

Capital Group, a financial services firm, has expanded its founding partnership with Cristo Rey New York into six additional markets. Capital Group provides valuable job placements in finance, data analysis, and coding. Furthermore, the firm’s dedication to cultivating relationships and providing career opportunities for Cristo Rey alumni exemplifies their long-term commitment to student development.

Deloitte, a globally recognized consulting firm, was an early partner of the movement’s original school, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School (Chicago), in the late 1990s and is now engaged in 12 campuses. Deloitte offers students opportunities in IT and office operations, as well as on building critical computer skills and fostering mentorship relationships has had a profound impact on student growth and confidence.

Expeditors, a global trade company, has partnered with Cristo Rey in 14 markets, providing students with real-world experiences in international trade and logistics. In 10 of the above markets, the company has partnered for more than 10 years. Through their supportive work study program, Expeditors creates an environment where students feel valued and encouraged to excel.

HKS is an architecture and design firm and 8-year local partner with Dallas Cristo Rey College Prep. Within this partnership, students work directly with professionals on architecture projects, utilizing advanced 3D modeling software and gaining practical skills in design and construction. 

Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation engages students in meeting facilitation, presentation opportunities, and management assistance, advancing their growth and confidence in the workplace. Their commitment to creating lasting impact and relationships with Cristo Rey alumni demonstrates their dedication to student success.

Parkland Health is a Dallas healthcare company where student associates are granted access to healthcare career exploration. This exposure provides students with valuable insights and practical experience, shaping their understanding of the industry.
