Stonehill College renews its engagement in the movement's University Partner program
October 21, 2020 – CHICAGO – Today, the Cristo Rey Network announced that Stonehill College has been named the movement's 60th University Partner. Stonehill College, among all fellow University Partners, shares a commitment to educating and supporting Cristo Rey students on their path to achieving a Bachelor's degree.
"We see our partnership with the Cristo Rey Network as a critical way of demonstrating Stonehill's appreciation for the commitment Cristo Rey families have made to a Catholic education and an acknowledgement of the exceptional preparation for college provided by Cristo Rey high schools," states Joseph Dacey, Vice President for Enrollment Management at Stonehill College. "As an intuition, we are extremely enthusiastic about the opportunity to welcome a community of students with such a strong demonstration of character and academic rigor. Solidifying this relationship provides a natural avenue for extending Stonehill's mission centric commitment to access and inclusivity."
Stonehill College's Office of Undergraduate Admission will provide an application fee waiver to Cristo Rey Network students in order to remove any monetary barrier for any student interested in applying to Stonehill.
In addition, Stonehill offers a First-Generation Scholar Program, a collaborative transition program designed to provide academic, professional, financial and social support to incoming first generation students. All institutional grants for these selected students will take the form of a "Cristo Rey Scholarship" and will be offered to admitted students from Cristo Rey schools on a rolling basis until four commitments are secured.
"Stonehill College has recognized the brilliance and ambition of our students for over a decade, offering the personal attention and educational tools needed to integrate our graduates' intellectual aptitudes with their professional goals," stated Stephanie Arias, Director of College Initiatives at Cristo Rey Network.
With over 90% of recent graduates in full-time roles or in graduate school, Stonehill College's successes align with Cristo Rey Network's mission for students to be college-prepared and career-ready post graduation.
